The worst performers of the session were Platinum Asset Management Ltd (ASX:), which fell 11.78% or 0.47 points to trade at 3.52 at the close. oOh!Media Ltd (ASX:) declined 9.82% or 0.11 points to end at 1.01 and Southern Cross Media Group Ltd (ASX:) was down 9.09% or 0.020 points to 0.200.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 1162 to 183 and 274 ended unchanged.

AUD/USD was up 0.07% to 0.6859, while AUD/JPY rose 0.38% to 73.50.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 96.770.
