The worst performers of the session were Perpetual Ltd (ASX:), which fell 5.06% or 1.70 points to trade at 31.91 at the close. Resolute Mining Ltd (ASX:) declined 4.86% or 0.070 points to end at 1.370 and Waypoint REIT Ltd (ASX:) was down 4.76% or 0.130 points to 2.600.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 694 to 475 and 320 ended unchanged.

AUD/USD was down 0.20% to 0.7135, while AUD/JPY fell 0.01% to 75.32.
