© Reuters. India stocks higher at close of trade; Nifty 50 up 0.14% – India stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in NSE, the added 0.14% to hit a new 6-months high, while the index added 0.21%.

The best performers of the session on the were Infosys Ltd (NS:), which rose 2.93% or 32.40 points to trade at 1139.20 at the close. Meanwhile, ITC Ltd (NS:) added 2.74% or 4.60 points to end at 172.45 and UPL Ltd (NS:) was up 1.95% or 9.70 points to 507.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (NS:), which fell 4.99% or 10.00 points to trade at 190.55 at the close. Bharti Airtel Ltd. (NS:) declined 2.81% or 11.95 points to end at 413.25 and JSW Steel Ltd (NS:) was down 2.74% or 8.00 points to 284.00.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were ITC Ltd (BO:) which rose 2.59% to 172.20, Infosys Ltd (BO:) which was up 2.23% to settle at 1132.30 and Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:) which gained 1.69% to close at 2085.00.

The worst performers were Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:) which was down 2.83% to 413.10 in late trade, HDFC Bank Ltd (BO:) which lost 1.65% to settle at 1213.40 and Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (BO:) which was down 1.63% to 69.20 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1133 to 492 and 77 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1702 fell and 899 advanced, while 180 ended unchanged.

Shares in Infosys Ltd (NS:) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.93% or 32.40 to 1139.20. Shares in Infosys Ltd (BO:) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 2.23% or 24.75 to 1132.30.

The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 3.67% to 21.1275.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.06% or 1.10 to $1927.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.63% or 0.66 to hit $39.94 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.38% or 0.59 to trade at $42.26 a barrel.

USD/INR was up 0.41% to 73.312, while EUR/INR rose 0.26% to 86.5190.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 93.200.
