Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in NSE, the gained 0.76%, while the index climbed 0.71%.

The best performers of the session on the were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (NS:), which rose 7.55% or 190.50 points to trade at 2713.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Wipro Ltd (NS:) added 7.01% or 21.95 points to end at 335.00 and Tata Steel Ltd (NS:) was up 4.93% or 18.00 points to 382.95 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Bajaj Finserv Ltd (NS:), which fell 2.79% or 168.60 points to trade at 5885.00 at the close. Shree Cements Ltd. (NS:) declined 2.75% or 566.00 points to end at 20045.00 and Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (NS:) was down 2.52% or 5.40 points to 208.60.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:) which rose 7.54% to 2713.00, Tata Steel Ltd (BO:) which was up 4.88% to settle at 382.75 and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO:) which gained 3.39% to close at 524.00.

The worst performers were Bajaj Finserv Ltd (BO:) which was down 2.70% to 5889.50 in late trade, Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:) which lost 1.89% to settle at 424.20 and Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:) which was down 1.87% to 3379.75 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 892 to 712 and 104 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1431 rose and 1193 declined, while 173 ended unchanged.

Shares in Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (NS:) rose to all time highs; gaining 7.55% or 190.50 to 2713.95. Shares in Wipro Ltd (NS:) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 7.01% or 21.95 to 335.00. Shares in Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:) rose to 5-year highs; up 7.54% or 190.25 to 2713.00.

The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 7.38% to 19.7050.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.19% or 3.55 to $1904.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 4.24% or 1.57 to hit $38.62 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 3.67% or 1.44 to trade at $40.71 a barrel.

USD/INR was down 0.03% to 73.266, while EUR/INR rose 0.26% to 86.0880.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 93.715.
