Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher while losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the added 1.29% to hit a new all time high, while the index gained 0.85%, and the index declined 0.11%.

The best performers of the session on the were Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (DE:), which rose 4.53% or 3.870 points to trade at 89.300 at the close. Meanwhile, Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:) added 4.27% or 9.84 points to end at 240.22 and Covestro AG (DE:) was up 3.12% or 1.760 points to 58.200 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:), which fell 1.38% or 0.880 points to trade at 63.090 at the close. RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:) declined 0.97% or 0.320 points to end at 32.505 and Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (DE:) was down 0.86% or 0.84 points to 96.35.

The top performers on the MDAX were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:) which rose 5.38% to 11.560, Evotec AG O.N. (DE:) which was up 5.32% to settle at 30.900 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:) which gained 5.09% to close at 11.502.

The worst performers were Uniper SE (DE:) which was down 2.70% to 31.040 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (DE:) which lost 2.54% to settle at 35.64 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:) which was down 2.01% to 419.000 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (DE:) which rose 5.32% to 30.900, Nordex SE O.N. (DE:) which was up 4.74% to settle at 26.960 and LPKF Laser & Electronics (DE:) which gained 3.19% to close at 24.250.

The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (DE:) which was down 2.54% to 35.64 in late trade, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:) which lost 2.01% to settle at 419.000 and Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (DE:) which was down 1.88% to 67.850 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 440 to 234 and 76 ended unchanged.

Shares in Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (DE:) rose to 52-week highs; up 4.53% or 3.870 to 89.300. Shares in Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:) rose to 5-year highs; up 4.27% or 9.84 to 240.22. Shares in Nordex SE O.N. (DE:) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 4.74% or 1.220 to 26.960.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.08% to 19.15.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.71% or 29.35 to $1685.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 1.87% or 1.15 to hit $60.41 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 1.46% or 0.95 to trade at $63.97 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.33% to 1.1723, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.8543.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 93.290.
